Keywords:ATCA  detect switches  AMC

C&K Components introduced its range of detect switches for use in Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) applications. Dubbed individually as the MDS series, SDS series, SDT series and HDT series, these detect switches are employed in the server blade as safety devices to ensure that the blade is powered down, while guaranteeing zero data loss.

While most ATCA applications are used in network and telecom servers, the detect switches are also being increasingly used on advanced mezzanine cards (AMC) for improved data integrity in military, datacom and medical applications, including black boxes and high-end ultrasound equipment.

The detect switches include the following lines. The MDS series of micro snap-acting detect switches is available in vertical and right-angle PCB mounts, with 2.9mm travel. The SDS series of side-actuated detect switches features a low 2mm profile and 2mm overtravel. The SDT series of micro mini pendulum detect switches is offered with top or side actuation with a 3.3mm profile. The HDT series of micro mini detect switches is available with top or side actuation with a 3.35mm profile.

Pricing ranges from Rs.14.11 (35 cents) to Rs.22.98 (57 cents) in quantities of 10,000 for the MDS, SDS, SDT and HDT series detect switches. Delivery time is five to seven weeks.
