PFI welcomes MindTree into the fold

Indian Global IT and R&D Services Company MindTree Ltd has joined the Power Forward Initiative (PFI), and will be offering Common Power Format (CPF) low power flow to its design services clients. The PFI now has 27 members as it continues to increase its momentum.

As a design services company, MindTree has adopted Cadence Design Systems, Inc.'s low-power solution, which is designed to increase productivity, manage design complexity, and shorten time to market. MindTree, which provides complete solutions in the ASIC and IC design services, assists customers who design ICs for communications and consumer applications.

"Low-power design capability is extremely important to our customers," said S.N. Padmanabhan, senior vice president of R&D Services at MindTree. "A large percentage of designs coming to us are targeted for communications and consumer products requiring require low-power implementations. CPF provides the mechanism for clear communication of low-power intent between the customer and MindTree; this helps us deliver high-quality low-power solutions to our customers."
