ADI unveils low-noise operational amplifiers

Analog Devices Inc. has introduced the latest addition to its portfolio of low-noise operational amplifiers. The ADA4898 offers a combination of low distortion, low noise, high speed and high precision, targeting 16bit and 18bit precision instrumentation applications.

Designed to work with ADI's precision data converters, including the AD7631 and AD7634, the ADA4898 is well suited for radar-based collision avoidance, medical instrumentation and other 16bit and 18bit precision instrumentation applications.

The ADA4898 unity gain stable op amp offers ultra-low broadband noise (<1nV/rt Hz), 1/f noise of 1.2nV/rt Hz at 10Hz, low distortion (-110dBc at 500kHz), and dc precision that optimizes the performance of ADCs. The op also offers a wide supply range of ±5V to ±15V.

Particularly suited for 16bit and 18bit systems, the ADA4898 features high speed (-3dB bandwidth of 70MHz, at G=+1) and high slew rate (40V/µs), providing the optimal combination of amplifier speed and precision, ADI said. The device operates over the extended temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.

Pricing starts at Rs.76.21 ($1.89) in quantities of 1,000. The ADA4898-1 single is now available in full production quantities in an 8-lead SOIC package. A dual version will be available later this year.
