CML Microcircuits has announced the new product functionality for it's FirmASIC component technology based CMX7031 and CMX7041 two-way radio processors.
The latest market driven release issued by CML, offers two-way radio manufacturers, half-duplex C4FM modem functionality suitable for use in PMR/LMR radios. In conjunction with a suitable host µcontroller and RF circuit, this provides a complete digital baseband processing and data solution.
CML's proprietary FirmASIC component technology configures on-chip sub-systems via a Function Image; this is a data file that is uploaded during device initialisation, configuring the function and feature-set. Function Image FI-3.0 is the latest release, providing C4FM modem functionality.
A Function Image can be loaded automatically from an optional external EEPROM or from a host microcontroller over the built-in C-BUS serial interface, facilitating in-the-field upgrades, useful for adding additional product functionality to existing products.
Based on 40 years of two-way radio IC design experience, CML's CMX7031 and CMX7041 are complete two-way radio processors, meeting all current and positioned to meet all future, global market requirements via flexible Function Image updates.
Fully functional in the range 3.0 to 3.6 volts, this product is available as an LQFP or VQFN package.
