SEMI reported that global semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached Rs.44,018.97 crore ($11.13 billion) in Q3 07. This marks a 1 per cent q-on-q increase, as well as a 1 per cent y-on-uptake.
SEMI also reported worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings of Rs.35,318.01 crore ($8.93 billion) in the same period under review. The figure is 23 per cent less than the same quarter a year ago and 10 per cent less than the bookings figure for Q2 07.
"The industry continues to see modest quarterly growth in billings," said Stanley T. Myers, president and CEO of SEMI. "While bookings appear to have peaked for the year, some regions, specifically Taiwan and China, are expected to experience significant growth given the strength of the first two quarters."
The data, gathered in cooperation with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ), is from more than 150 global equipment companies.
