MagnaChip enters power-management market

Analogue and mixed-signal IC provider MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd has entered the power-management market with an initial line of products including MOSFETs, DC/DC converters and linear regulators.

Targeting mobile phone and LCD TV applications, the South Korean company's first offerings allow electronics manufacturers to achieve specific design goals of high efficiency and low standby power consumption. MagnaChip's product design is focused on improving battery life for mobile device applications and controlling and reducing standby power consumption for LCD TVs.

Moving into power-management products is part of the company's an overall strategy to leverage analogue and mixed-signal technology platform and systems level know-how to extend its product and service offerings.
