Cadence opens third R&D centre in Noida

Cadence Design Systems has announced the opening of a third research and development facility in Noida. Mike Fister, president and CEO of Cadence Design Systems will be on hand to unveil the new Rs.46.52 crore ($11.5 million), 93,000 square foot facility as part of the ongoing expansion of Cadence in India. The Noida R&D centre focuses on developing design automation solutions to address the needs of engineers designing at 65 and 45-nm technology process nodes.
Over the last 20 years, Cadence has consistently invested in its employees and facilities in India. The company currently employs approximately 900 people who are engaged in research and development, IT support and global customer care and support at its centers in Noida and Bangalore.
"As Cadence celebrates its 20th year in India, it's fitting that we also inaugurate the new facility at our Noida campus. Cadence is committed to being close to where our customers are expanding, and India is an integral part of our overall growth strategy," said Fister, president and CEO of Cadence Design Systems.
"We are working closely with the emerging local electronics ecosystem to enable design innovation," added Jaswinder Ahuja, corporate VP and managing director, Cadence Design Systems (I) Pvt. Ltd. "The new Noida centre is the largest Cadence R&D site outside of the United States. This expansion supports our global R&D strategy and reiterates our commitment to India."
