TravelLogicTaipei-based Acute Technology Inc. is showcasing its latest product, the TravelLogic (TL2x36) series logic analyser, at the seventh annual Embedded Systems Conference-Taiwan (ESC-Taiwan). Launched in the market earlier this month, the logic analyser offers 36 channels, 4GHz timing analysis, 200MHz state analysis, and UART, I2C, I2S, SPI H/W trigger within a 123-by-76-by-21mm form factor.

Acute Technology designs and develops PC-based test and measurement instruments and manufactures logic analysers, data generators and digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs).

C.C. Lee
C.C. Lee: In terms of price vs. performance, we have an advantage.
The TL2x36 series enables PC-based analysis by communicating over a USB 2.0 interface. Depending on the model number, the series has memory depth of 180Kb, 18Mb or 72Mb. The analysers feature a four-condition (16-level each) trigger and a glitch trigger. They can also stack with Acute's DSO series DS-1000 or Tektronix's DSOs to enable a mixed-signal analyser.

The logic analyser series competes with the low-end of Tektronix products as they offer only 36 channels. The company is however planning to introduce 100-odd channels next year, according to C.C. Lee, president. "In terms of price vs. performance we have an advantage," said Lee. "For instance, we are selling the TL2036Lite model for Rs.19,819.66 ($490)." Lee noted that some competing models are available for several thousand dollars.
