Analog Devices Inc. has expanded its product portfolio by rolling out a 65nm version of its base band processor line.

The DSP-based device is built upon a 65nm process from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. With the process, ADI's SoftFone base band processors are said to provide lower cost and better power efficiency.

"Analog Devices and TSMC have been collaborating for 18 years. Today, a wide range of our products—analogue, DSP, radio frequency (RF) and mixed signal—are manufactured by TSMC," said Christian Kermarrec, VP, RF and wireless systems, in a statement.

TSMC ''has been instrumental in our SoftFone and general purpose DSP roadmaps, helping ADI to achieve continuously improved cost, power consumption and performance," he said.
