EEPROM block offers up to 180�C temp

austriamicrosystems AG's foundry business unit has announced the availability of fully automotive-qualified 3Kb EEPROM blocks for its 0.35?m process family. By using PMOS-based NVM technology, the highly reliable 3Kb EEPROM blocks offer an industrial temperature range up to 180?C, making them suitable for harsh environments in the automotive, medical and industrial sectors, said the Austrian fab headquartered near Graz.

Endurance is typically 20 million read/write cycles at 25?C and will be guaranteed for at least one million cycles at 125?C. Data retention is ensured for a minimum of 25 years at 125?C.

The EEPROM blocks feature a robust cell concept developed especially for low power and low voltage applications, and supply voltage ranges from 2.2-3.6V for read and 2.5-3.6V for write.

The silicon-proven memory IP blocks, available from austriamicro now, taxi be instantly integrated in a product design using the HIT-Kit, the company's industry benchmark process design kit.

Due to the modularity of the processes, foundry customers can reuse 100 per cent of their standard 0.35?m CMOS designs while the memory block is added right before starting production of the wafer.
