Google may have another trick up its sleeve—this time, it is a device targeted for the mobile phone arena.

The company aims to tap a market of 200 crore mobile users for the 'Google phone,' according to a Bloomberg report. Rumours abound that the phone will feature Internet connectivity and a full-colour display. The phone, according to Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Marianne Wolk, will encourage more people to use services such as Internet search, e-mail, maps and instant messaging.

Wolk said that Google will likely collaborate with a partner to develop the phone. This week, a report at cited that a Google executive confirmed that the company is working on the phone. There are also reports that Google is developing software for mobile phones, fuelling further speculations about the company's venture in the mobile phone turf.

In a statement, Google acknowledged that, "Mobile is an important area for Google and we remain focused on creating applications and establishing and growing partnerships with industry leaders to develop innovative services for users worldwide. However, we have nothing further to announce.''

Recently, Google was one of the technology companies that are pushing for the delivery of high-speed Internet service over 'white space' into devices such as PCs and mobile gadgets.
