California Eastern Laboratories (CEL) has announced the availability of a medium-power SiGe HBT transistor amplifier from NEC. The 2W NESG270034 is designed for two-way radio applications including FRS, GMRS and SMR, as well as for general UHF- and ISM-band applications. The NESG270034 uses NEC's UHS2-HV SiGe process and is housed in a thermally efficient, RoHS-compliant package.

With an input power of 20dBm the output power at 460MHz and 900MHz is 33.5dBm and 31.5dBm, respectively. The gain and collector efficiency at the same frequencies are 19.5dBm and 15dB and 60 per cent and 50 per cent, respectively.

The product is available today.
