Tektronix has added IP video monitoring capabilities to the MTM400, an MPEG Transport Stream Monitor for broadcasters and network operators who need a scalable product to detect signal degradation caused during transmission and distribution.

The MTM400 MPEG Transport Stream Monitor now provides simultaneous monitoring of critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for up to 500 MPEG Transport Streams carried within a GbE link to aid rapid fault resolution.

The core enhancements provide cost-effective IP monitoring with deep MPEG analysis. This supports rapid fault resolution by expanding the monitoring coverage of simultaneous IP streams, with the ability to drill down through the IP layer to analyse the MPEG layer in depth.

The channel polling option is designed to enhance the financial viability of large monitored network deployments that can include significant numbers of RF channels (cable head-end) or high volumes of IP sessions (telco head-end).

The simultaneous monitoring of multiple IP sessions will ship as standard on the MTM400 with GbE interface (Option GE) and is available as an upgrade for existing customers. Automatic channel changing for polling multiple steams is available as an option for new and existing MTM400 customers.

Product will begin shipping immediately.
