The Electronics Group of Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a Crane Co. segment, announced a DC/DC converter, the MPE, which will provide even more power in an industry standard case. Released under the Interpoint brand, the fully isolated MPE Series of DC/DC converters accepts a 16-50Vdc input and provides single or dual outputs with up to 25W of output power.

"The MPE provides lower output voltages for powering the latest FPGAs, processors and electronics components. This is combined with much higher power density which is almost double that of existing converters of this size," said Ed Fuhr, vice president of the Power Solutions, Electronics Group, Crane Aerospace & Electronics.

The MPE converters also feature an inhibit function, soft start and soft recovery. Typical output noise of the MPE Series of converters can be as low as 0.3 per cent up to 20MHz bandwidth. The full operating temperature range is –55° to 125°C, case. The hermetically sealed case measures 37.08-by-28.7-by-8.38mm.

Screening levels of standard, /ES and (after qualification) /883 (referenced to MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534) are offered. The MPE is available now with prices starting at Rs.20,484 ($450) each in quantities of 100.
