Vishay Intertechnology Inc. expanded its prouct portfolio with the release of a new 1W Power Metal Strip resistor in the 1206 package size and new moulded solid tantalum chip capacitors.

The Dale WSLP1206 Power Metal Strip resistor is said to be the industry's first 1W current sensing resistor in the 1206 package size. It features a 2mΩ to 50mΩ resistance value range, and high-temperature performance up to 170°C. It is intended for current sensing and pulse applications in DC/DC converters for computers, VRMs for laptops and Li-ion battery safety and management; and electronic automotive systems, including engine controls, multimedia electronics, climate controls and anti-lock brakes. The WSLP1206 features all-welded construction with a solid metal nickel-chrome or manganese-copper alloy resistive element. It offers inductance values from 0.5nH to 5nH, frequency response to 50MHz and thermal EMF of less than 3μV/°C.

The Sprague TH3 moulded solid tantalum chip capacitors provide high reliability with high-temperature capabilities of 150°C with 50percent voltage derating. They suit a wide variety of automotive uses, including under-hood and on-engine applications, sensor applications, industrial applications related to the control of high-temperature materials; and oil exploration sensing systems. The capacitors are available in five case codes, sizes A through E. Part of Vishay's Tantamount tantalum capacitor family, the devices have a capacitance range of 0.33-100&micr;F and a voltage range of 10-50V.
