Agitar Software, a provider of enterprise developer testing solutions, has set up a unit in India called Agitar Software India Pvt. Ltd, to be headquartered in Bangalore.

Vishnu Raned has been named as Agitar's country manager in India. Vishnu will be responsible for all aspects and functions of the Agitar's business in the region, including sales, business development and operations.

"India is one of the biggest software development countries in the world, developing cost effective and premium quality software. However, organisations here feel the need for better quality software, shorter development cycles and transparency in the development process, which Agitar's solution provides," said Jerry Rudisin, CEO of Agitar Software. "The initial response to Agitator has been very encouraging and that's when we decided the need for a local presence and a country head."

Agitar's Agitator product eliminates most of the manual work associated with developer testing, the practice in which developers test their software as they write it. Agitar management dashboard gives development teams, precise and objective information about the status of quality at the level of individual code units. The level of automation and visibility provided by Agitar's solution makes widespread adoption of developer testing practical for the first time.

Cognizant, Cisco, Mindtree, Honeywell and Polaris are among Agitar's customers in India who have adopted its automated developer testing technology. Agitar has over a dozen customers in India and 175 worldwide.
