Wipro, Motorola form JV for management services

Wipro Ltd and Motorola Inc. have formed a joint venture company, designated WMNetServ, to deliver public and private networks customers with managed services focused on planning, deployment, optimisation, security, operations and support services.

The equity structure of the firm, to be based in Europe, was not disclosed, but it will be lead by a Wipro executive. Besides the headquarters, a regional subsidiary for the joint venture will also be in Europe, Wipro stated.

WMNetServ will host a Global Network Operation Center (GNOC) platform that will integrate seamlessly with Motorolas existing NOCs in North America and Europe to provide 24/7 network monitoring capabilities to customers. WMNetServ's primary delivery centre, including the GNOC will be based in India.
