Nokia sues Chinese rivals for copying cell phone model

Cell phone supplier Nokia has filed suit in Beijing, China against two companies for allegedly manufacturing and selling phones copying Nokia's proprietary design of its 7260 model.

The defendants, both based in Shenzhen, are Shenzhen Telsda Mobile Communication Industry Developing Co. Ltd and Song Xun Da Zhong Ke Electronic (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. Nokia also named the distributors of the mobile phones as co-defendants.

In its complaint, Nokia has requested the court to order the defendants to cease manufacturing and selling the mobile phones that infringe upon the design patents and pay monetary damages and costs.

The suit is being handled by the Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People's Court.
