Amphenol Industrial Operations has introduced RoHS-compliant versions of its Amphe-Lite connectors that promise complete EMI shielding and suit a wide variety of harsh environment commercial and industrial applications, including power, signal, RF and analogue optics.

The company said it has reduced or, where feasible, eliminated regulated hazardous substances from the products. The connectors are environmentally resistant to IP67, lightweight, corrosion resistant and durable. The RoHS-compliant connectors are available in shell sizes nine to 25. Standards shell styles include wall mount receptacle, jam nut receptacle and straight plug.

Key design features include a positive shell-to-shell coupling design, grounding fingers and electroless nickel plating to provide superior EMI shielding capability. Acme threads ensure coupling durability. Blunting of the thread on both the coupling nut and receptacle eliminates cross coupling. The connector quickly mates and self locks with a 360° turn of the coupling nut. An anti-vibration mechanism prevents the connector from backing off. The interfacial seal and rear grommet ensure complete environmental sealing to prevent any electrolytic erosion, the company explained.

Pricing for RoHS-compliant Amphe-Lite connectors starts at Rs.824.94 ($18) for a mated pair. Deliverity is eight to ten weeks ARO factory dircet or one to two weeks ARO from distributors, based on part availability.
