One Stop Displays (OSD) has introduced a 3.5-inch transmissive landscape mode 320 x RGB x 240 QVGA TFT module for indoor and outdoor applications.

The OSD35TTEA1 TFT-LCD is a transmissive + micro reflective (TMR) display. Compared with a full transflective display, the TMR module offers a cost advantage, said the company, and has found uses in MP3 players, cell phones and other consumer devices that have limited usage in absolute perpendicular sunlight. In addition, the TMR module will also pass more of the backlight's luminance, which will require less power to reach the same intensity (compared to a transflective), and can be an advantage in indoor applications, said the company.

The OSD35TTEA1 TFT-LCD features an aspect ratio of 4:3 and is capable of displaying 2,62,000 colours. The TFT-LCD is manufactured with an advanced Poly-silicon (p-Si) manufacturing process, which allows the row and column LCD drivers to be fabricated directly on the LCD glass (COG). This is said to eliminate the need for discrete TAB drivers, as well as reduce the thickness, weight and overall size of the display while offering high brightness.

This QVGA display also includes an integrated 4-wire resistive touch screen, a white LED backlight and a standard 18-bit digital RGB interface.

Sample pricing starts at Rs.2,706.60 ($60) FOB Florida.
