DPDT diversity switch

M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics, announced a RoHS-compliant DPDT (double-pole/double-throw) diversity switch designed for applications that require high linearity and isolation, with low cost and insertion loss all in a small size package. The MASWSS0190 device, with its low leakage current, is a high power switch that maximizes system linearity performance while simultaneously reducing DC power consumption.

Typical applications for the switch include WLAN IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b/g systems that employ two antennas for transmit and receive diversity as well as cordless phones and base stations. Designed for high power, this product is designed to maintain high linearity up to 6GHz. It is designed to have power handling performance of 33dBm P1dB, typical insertion loss of 0.70dB, isolation of 43dB and a maximum leakage current of 10?A.

The MASWSS0190 is fabricated on a low-cost 0.5-micron gate-length GaAs process with full passivation added for robust reliability and each switch is 100 per cent RF tested to ensure performance compliance. Offered in Pb-free, 2mm 8-lead UTDFN packaging, the MAWSSS0190 is priced at Rs.30.80 (69 cents) in quantities of 100,000.
