Syntax-Brillian Corp., a manufacturer of HDTVs in North America, announced a strategic supply agreement with LG.Philips LCD, one of the thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) manufacturers.
Under the terms of the agreement, LG.Philips LCD will expand its supply of large and wide LCD TV panels to Syntax-Brillian. This agreement is a win-win proposition for the two companies, as LG.Philips LCD will acquire a steady demand base in the fast growing LCD TV panel market, while Syntax-Brillian will secure a stable supply of high quality LCD TV panels.
"This strategic supply agreement, an extension of our existing relationship with LG.Philips LCD, is important to Syntax-Brillian on several fronts," said Vincent Sollitto, Syntax-Brillian chairman and CEO. "It provides a significant volume of TFT-LCD panels in 2006 to support our planned expansion of the Olevia brand worldwide, and further strengthens our relationship with the LCD panel supplier."
The agreement includes the full line of LG.Philips panels: 20-, 23-, 32-, 37-, 42- and 47-inch, with the majority of panels in the high-demand 37-inch and 42-inch form factor.
