Nvidia signs chip development contract with Sony

Nvidia Corp. has signed a major chip development contract with Sony Corp., according to a new report from American Technology Research Inc.

Under the terms, Nvidia will develop a range of chip products for Japan's Sony. The company could find itself in different programs and products within Sony, according to the report.

The companies are no strangers to each other. Nvidia is already making the RSX graphics chip for Sony's Playstation 3 game console, which has been delayed for introduction.
