Micro Card socket

Samtec Inc. has expanded its Micro Card socket interface line with the introduction of its PCIE series of PCI Express sockets. These devices support one, four, eight and sixteen PCI Express links.

These 1mm pitch sockets have industry standard latching features for rugged applications that require retention clips on the boards. They are available for surface mounting to the board for perpendicular card interfaces and edge-mounting to the board for co-planar card interfaces.

Micro Card interfaces include high-speed riser card systems (Rise Up RU8 series), Serial ATA interfaces (SAL1 series), transceiver interfaces (MECT series) as well as a variety of card interfaces on 0.8mm (HSEC8 series) and 1mm (MEC1 series) pitch. Many of these interfaces feature edge rate contacts designed for signal integrity, impedance control, and reduced cross talk in rugged applications.
