Murata Mfg Co. Ltd has commercialized block type "EMIFIL," BNX022 series, surface mounting EMI suppression filter suitable for noise suppression in DC power supply lines for amusement and industrial equipment.

According to the company, thin packages measuring 12-by-9-by-3mm are now possible because of the BNX022 series, with downsized components from advancement in capacitor material technology as well as revamped packaging. The thickness of conventional BNX series with lead terminals is 13.5mm for the standard models (excluding the lead terminal) and 8mm for the low profile models.

In spite of its smaller size, the BNX022 filter offers large insertion loss in a wide frequency band range between 1MHz and 1GHz, which is roughly comparable with conventional BNX series with lead terminals. Consequently, members of this series is expected to have the top-level noise suppression performance among the surface mounting type products, added Murata.

RoHS compliant, the BNX022 series comes in one lineup with rated voltage of 50V and rated current of 10A.
