Datatronic transformer meets rigorous safety, telecom standards

Datatronic Distribution Inc. has launched a new line matching transformer that meets rigorous safety and telecom industry standards while combining high performance coupling with a high dielectric strength in a low-profile package compliant to RoHS standards. The new low-profile, sealed LM302-1L device is compatible with all major standard modem circuitry that meets V.32, V.32 bis and V.34 industry requirements.

Providing space-efficient isolation between sensitive electronics and telephone lines, the new LM302-1L device offers a dielectric strength tested to 6,500Vdc, meeting various international safety standards including UL60950 and BABT. The device's high dielectric strength safeguards equipment users by protecting them from electrical shock. It is suitable for a wide range of voice and data applications telecom equipment, instrumentation, portable devices, office equipment, security systems as well as any other devices with telecom interfaces.

Other key electrical specifications include an impedance of 600 ohms (both primary/secondary), a 1:1 turns ratio, and an insertion loss of 1.5db maximum at 2KHz.

The through-hole LM302-1L comes in a 17.9mm square package. It features a seated height of 10.7mm, which makes it suitable for many high-density designs.

With its vacuum encapsulated package, the sealed LM302-1L withstands high temperature soldering and operating temperature environments from -20°C to 85°C. Storage temperature is -40°C to 85°C.

Available on tape-and-reel or tube packaging for auto insertion equipment, pricing for the LM302-1L starts at 89 cents each in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
