PowerDebug II and PowerTrace II, two recent additions to Lauterbach Inc.'s TRACE32 PowerTools line of modular in-circuit debuggers, bump up, respectively, the speed and capacity of data transfers.

The PowerDebug II module touts a Gigabit Ethernet interface that speeds downloads of programs from a host computer to one of 30 target processors. The high speed is especially helpful for large trace memories, such as the 2GB capacity featured in the second addition, the PowerTrace II. The large memory in the PowerTrace II lets you monitor program data, which is time stamped in 10ns increments, for longer periods. Its data recording rate is 350MHz.

The PowerDebug II and PowerTrace II can be combined with a context tracking system to analyze trace data, as well as other modules that track such factors as statistics, performance and code coverage.

Starting price for the PowerDebug II and PowerTrace II modules, which are available now, is $6,700.
