Vishay Intertechnology Inc.'s dual, single-pole, double throw and dual, single-pole, single throw analog switches are said to offer low on-resistance (2.5 ohms) and high 3dB bandwidth (up to 360MHz) in a tiny package.

Through the full voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V, the six new switches are aimed at portable applications such as cellphones, PDAs, media players and notebook computers. These switches are offered in the company's Micro Foot packaging with Pb-free bump terminations in 3-by-3mm, and 4-by-3mm-configurations. All of the switches are 1.6V logic compatible within their full operational voltage range.

The dual SPDT DG3516/17 switches feature a 300MHz 3dB bandwidth, while the dual, SPST DG3537/38/39/40 switches feature a 360MHz 3-dB bandwidth for video and data-stream applications.

Their low on-resistance, 1-ohm flatness and 0.2-ohm matching—which is key for achieving low distortion, signal fidelity and high linearity—provide excellent performance for audio and video applications such as speaker switching, port sharing, and USB switching, according to Vishay.

The DG35xx family offers a full rail-to-rail signal swing range and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection over 2 kV. Their operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.

The analog switches are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing is 65 cents each for U.S. delivery in 1,000-piece quantities.
