Sankhya opens SESA – 2011 for engineering students

Sankhya is organising Sankhya Embedded Systems Architecture contest (SESA)—2011 for which registration will open on Aug 17, 2011 and close on Sep 14, 2011. Last date for submitting entries is Nov 20, 2011. The challenge for the competition is to design an (original) processor ISA that can solve a problem (kernel code) for a particular application category using either the most compact code or the least number of cycles or both. The competition is open to all current students of computer science engineering, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, students of physics, mathematics and statistics. Participants must submit bonafide student certificate at the PG or PhD level from their college or university. The categories include Super Computing, Audio / Video Processing and Networking—Traffic Cryptography; Network Traffic Packet Inspection; Wireless (LTE) CODECs.
Winners will be awarded at IEEE INDICON 2011. First winner’s entries in each category will receive a certificate and prize. All winners and runners-up will receive pre-incubation support at SANKHYA Rishikonda Development center in Vishakhapatnam, AP for 6 months. Sponsors may offer necessary tools for design support during the pre-incubation stage at no cost or on a deferred cost model. Pre-incubates will also receive guidance and mentoring during the pre-incubation stage as well as receive introductions to investors.
Application process includes registration and then participant will receive a registration code. The participant has to sign; execute and return design contest and incubation agreement; request and receive 90-Day license for teraptor ESK 2.0 Processor modelling  solution, and submit SMDL Processor Model along With Application Kernel (In Assembly), sample test inputs and output for the architecture. Advanced Computing and Communications society will judge the contest.
