The committee will comprise six persons (three persons from each country) and the representatives from India will comprise one person each from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Department of Electronics and IT (DeitY) and Posts.
The committee is expected to come up with a roadmap within two months. Whereas the roadmap for investment will be set once the joint committee meets.
Sibal also invited Vietnamese counterpart to set up an electronics cluster in India. “We have suggested that they should set up an electronics cluster in the form of a city,” Sibal was quoted by The Hindu Business Line.
The cluster can come up on the Delhi–Mumbai corridor, and that it could be named as ‘Ho Chi Minh’, Sibal added.
Both the countries signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for partnership in the field of ICT.
"Vietnam has great strengths in hardware, but they now want to become a software superpower and they need collaboration with us on the software side and we have invited them to collaborate with us on the hardware side," Sibal said.
