Photocouplers guarantee 125ºC operation

Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. introduces the TLP350H and TLP352 photocouplers. The devices come in DIP8-packages and use long-life GaAIAs IR LEDs optically coupled to integrated high-gain, high-speed photodetector chips to operate from -40�C to 125�C.

The TLP350H runs on 3mA (maximum) power supply current. It is designed to drive small to medium capacity IGBTs and power MOSFETs. It is targeted at devices that are required to operate in high temperature environments, such as PV converters for solar applications; refrigeration, air conditioning, and other home appliances; and factory automation and motion control applications.

The TLP352 can directly drive a middle-capacity IGBT or power MOSFET, and helps reduce dead time and improve efficiency in inverter circuits. It can be used in industrial devices operating in severe heat environments; home photovoltaic power systems; digital home appliances; measurement devices; and control devices.

The devices offer totem pole output; ±2.5A peak output current; 3mA maximum power supply current; threshold input current of 5mA (max); and withstand voltage of 3,750V(rms).

Transmission delay time for the TLP350H is 500ns (max.) and for the TLP352, is 200ns (max.), and the transmission delay time difference between products (PDD) is ±80ns (max).
