LED display panel drives up to 128 RGB pixels

SiliconCore Technology Inc. unveils its 1.9mm pitch LED display panel technology that claims to drive up to 128 RGB LED pixels resulting in a drastic component count reduction.

The technology is enabled by the company's high integration, low power LED driver IC targeted at indoor applications.

The fine pitch technology also pioneers the use of 'Common Cathode' RGB LED topology that results in up to 30 per cent reduction in power dissipation and overcomes the overheating issue, according to SiliconCore. Other innovations include ghost image elimination, true 16bit colour, reduction of EMI emissions and scan refresh rates of up to 16kHz.

SiliconCore's product claims to deliver quality and performance, with the minimum viewing distance reduced to just one metre and with extremely wide viewing angles without colour shift. The technology is targeted at full HD LED display panel implementations for indoor applications such as broadcasting, retail displays, casinos, banking, foyer, medical and public events.
