Here's an application report that describes a typical procedure to configure a controller area network (CAN) node and perform CAN communication over the network. The CAN is a serial multi-master communication protocol that efficiently supports distributed real-time control, with a high level of security, and a communication rate of up to 1Mbps. The CAN bus is ideal for applications operating in noisy and harsh environments, such as in the automotive and other industrial fields that require reliable communication.
