Huawei Devices has launched its first customised 3G feature phone U5510 for the Indian audience aged 20–mid thirties. Developed by the Huawei India's R&D centre in Bangalore, the phone features 3G video calling with dual camera.

Another first from Huawei's R&D centre was the development of Message+ which is an instant messaging service for Huawei smartphone users. The Message+ service also supports automatic Friend Finder feature from the phone's contact list, group chat and creation of personal groups," according to the company.
