How to use ColdFire+ EEPROM functionality

The ColdFire+ family processors have a FlexMemory feature that allows users to configure some

of the on-chip flash memory as EEPROM, additional flash memory, or a combination of the two.

This application note discusses the use of the FlexMemory as EEPROM. The advantages of the EEPROM, configuration of the memory, and endurance calculations are discussed. The EEPROM capability of the FlexMemory has a number of features that allow the replacement of external EEPROMs.
