It merges the Moblin project and Maemo, thereby integrating the experience and skills of two significant development ecosystems versed in communications and computing technologies. The project is hosted by the Linux Foundation, a non-profit consortium committed in fostering the growth of Linux. Currently, AMD is a gold level member of the Linux Foundation and holds a seat on the foundation's board of directors.
