Phihong USA Corp. rolls out a 60W passive power injector for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) solutions. Available in 2-wire and 3-wire input models, the POE61x midspans are rated at 87 per cent for minimum average efficiency, making them compliant with Energy StarR EPS Version 2.0, Ecodesign (ErP) Directive 2009/125/EC level 2 Annex 1b, and CEC level V. Phihong claims that it is the "lowest-cost" 60W midspan.

The ultra PoE passive injector series is deemed ideal for 802.11n wireless access radios, satellite receivers, high-performance security cameras, LCD displays, kiosks, WiMaxR access points and other PoE applications. Optional Gigabit Base-T data rates are available for the three-wire POE61U and the two-wire POE61W. The gigabit models operate on full 4-pair powering while the non-gigabit models run only on the spare pairs.

Housed in low-profile UL- and CE-marked non-vented and spill-proof cases measuring 163mm by 65mm by 36mm and weighing 400g, they output 56V DC and feature over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection.

The POE61x series midspans are priced at Rs.862.35 ($18.36) each for non-Gb models and Rs.991.04 ($21.10) each for Gb-compatible units with a minimum order of 1,000 units.
