Virage, eMemory roll out embedded NVM tech
Taiwan's eMemory announced NeoROM, a one-time programmable (OTP) memory solution. NeoROM features mask ROM-like characteristics that allow for low-cost code programming.
''Because of its use of a generic logic I/O device as its core, NeoROM does not require an additional masking adder or extra process steps and does not change the off-the-shelf CMOS process, thus entailing no extra process costs,'' according to the company.
Meanwhile, Virage has qualified its Aeon nonvolatile memory solution on TSMC's 65-nm low-power process. Aeon is a multi-programmable IP.
Aeon enables product differentiation by enabling features such as in-field customisation, calibration, encryption keys and non-volatile counters. It supports 100,000 write-erase cycles and bit counts from eight bits to 8K bits.
