Carbon Design Systems announced that it has begun shipping implementation-accurate models for ARM Holdings plc's most advanced processor and interconnect components.

The products, intended for architectural decisions and pre-silicon firmware development, include implementation-accurate models for all variations of the ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore multi-core processor and PrimeCells, including the AMBA 3 Interconnect (PL301) matrix, Carbon Design said.

All Carbonised ARM technology-based models will feature debugger integrations for the software developer and hardware engineer as well as other features such as semi-hosting, break-pointing and single-stepping, according to Carbon Design. According to the firm, this enables them to integrate with virtual platforms such as Carbon's SoC Designer to enable accurate architectural analysis and pre-silicon firmware development.

Last July, ARM and Carbon Design took over development, support and sale of ARM's SoC Designer tool under an agreement with the U.K. company.
