AXIOMTEK has introduced the SBC86836 industrial-grade Mini ITX motherboard that features the ultra low power 45nm Intel Atom processor N270 at 1.6GHz and the Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset.

The Intel GMA 950 graphics engine is built into the chipset to provide faster graphics performance and flexible display options without the need for a separate graphics card.

The small footprint of 170 x 170 mm and low power consumption facilitate design of extremely slim embedded applications, such as in-vehicle infotainment, car PC, medical healthcare, POS, lottery machine, gaming, and kiosk.

The Intel Atom processor N270 has a 533MHz FSB and, combined with the highly-integrated Intel 945GSE Express chipset, offers high computing performance at extremely low power consumption. One DIMM socket supports up to 2 GB DDR2 400/533 SDRAM for high memory bandwidth.

The Intel GMA 950, by sharing the system memory, enables the SBC86836 to offer optimum 3D performance with a maximum video memory of up to 224MB. Displays can be connected via the onboard CRT (2048 x 1536) and LVDS with single/dual channel (1600 x 1200).

Powered by the Intel Atom processor N270 with the Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset, the SBC86836 is targeted for embedded solutions that require low power and scalability.

The new motherboard supports eight USB 2.0 and six COM ports, DualView display, one 32-bit PCI expansion slot, Dual Gigabit Ethernet and AC'97 codec audio. The SBC86836 is suitable for high-resolution display solutions like gaming, POS, DSA, and medical health care.

The chipset consists of Intel I/O Controller Hub 7-M (Intel ICH7-M), which supports flexible I/O connectivity including one PCI slot for 2 Bus master 32-bit expansion; two SATA-150 interfaces; six powered COM ports (1 x RS-232/422/485 & 5 x RS-232); eight Hi-speed USB 2.0 ports; dual Gigabit LAN controllers; PS/2 ports, digital I/O; and audio. In addition, one CompactFlash Type II socket is available.

The Atom Mini ITX motherboard SBC86836 is RoHS compliant and will be available mid-February, 2009.
