Keywords:Microcontrollers  power requirements  battery-operated  power saving

Microcontrollers present a multitude of ways to manage the power requirements in many battery-operated applications. There are different MCUs that offer a range of current consumption and a variety of power saving features.

New MCU's are providing multiple low power modes to address these needs and yet still maintain system flexibility.

In addition to low power modes and clock management, there are many other design considerations, both hardware and software, that can minimise power consumption.
