INnano168

Singapore-based Innovative Nano Systems (INnanoSYS) launches the INnano168, a 2X zoom-autofocus (AF) camera lens module claimed to be ten times smaller than conventional modules. It measures a mere 2.9 mm in thickness.

The INnano168 uses INnanoSYS' patented FlowingOptics technology, for which the company has invested

more than Rs.4.40 crore (S$1.5 million) in nano technology R&D.

Cameras in the market today mainly rely on mechanical movement of solid lenses by means of motors to enable optical zoom, focus and macro, and therefore tend to be relatively large in size and expensive. This is

contradictory to the trend of making mobile gadgets smaller and affordable. The INnano168 aims to provide a solution to this problem.

The 4-in-ONE module, offers AF, 2x Optical Zoom, macro function and micro function. It is targeted at high end, fashionable, high-resolution camera phones, and can be used with any CMOS/CCD image sensor that is 2 mega pixels or higher. The product is also intended to serve medical, computing, industrial, security, and automotive applications.
