Keywords:DDR memory  power supply  DRAM  SDRAM

Aside from PC applications, DDR DRAM devices are mainly used in high-speed and memory-demanding applications such as graphic cards, blade servers, networking devices and communication devices. The portable device market segment, especially, demands both higher speed and lower operating voltages from DRAM modules. More and more portable electronic gadgets provide for graphics and video capability that need DRAM modules.

This article gives tips on selecting DDR memory power supply ICs. It also discusses the main differences between SDRAM and DDR SDRAM, particularly in power supply voltage, interface, and data transfer frequency.
