Keywords:PCIe card

A two-channel 10MSps 12bit waveform digitiser PCIe card has been introduced by Strategic Test Corp. The UF2e-3120 can record signals to the card memory of up to 2Gsamples or streamed at full rate to the host PC. Unique features include options for dual-timebase sampling, synchronous digital inputs, asynchronous digital I/O and the possibility to synchronise up to 542 channels.

Drivers and programming examples for Microsoft Windows Vista, XP64, XP and Linux (RedHat, Fedora, SuSe, Sarge) are supplied with the card, as well as the SBench 5.3 oscilloscope program. SDKs for MATLAB, LabVIEW, Agilent-VEE, DASYLab and LabWindows/CVI are available as options.

Key specifications
The 32Msamples memory is expandable to 2Gsamples. Continuous streaming to host PC is better than 120MSps. Effective number of bits is greater than 10.6bits, and the SNR is better than 66.0dB. Total harmonic distortion is less than -63.0dB and the standard -3dB bandwidth is > 5MHz.

Each channel has its own 10MSps ADC for true simultaneous sampling. Eight input voltages range from 50mV to 10V, with a programmable offset of 100 percent. Input impedances of 50Ω or 1Ω, allow each channel to be individually configured for the signal source.

Customize hardwareLike all UltraFast boards, the UF2e-3120 waveform digitiser cards can be customised with hardware options to best match the application. Onboard memory can be 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1,024 or 2,048 Msamples. Multiple recording features memory segmentation, and the gated sampling output clock is controlled by an external TTL signal. TimeBase records the time of trigger events or gates, while the ABA mode allows slow-fast-slow recording on trigger.

Star Hub enables synchronisation of up to 5 or 16 boards, or 5 to 16 PCs to a maximum of 271 boards. It can be used with digitiser, AWG and digital I/O boards to create mixed-mode systems. Digital inputs can number up to 8 synchronous digital inputs and the BaseXIO adds 8 asynchronous digital I/O lines.

Prices start at Rs.1.58 lakh ($3990) with volume/OEM discounts available.
