Designing real-time systems with UML, Part 3 This article is the third in a series of three on how the Unified Modelling Language (UML) can be used to develop real-time and embedded systems. The first article identified the major notational and semantic features of the UML. The second developed the notions of analysis of object-oriented (OO) systems and used an anaesthesia patient ventilator-the Gasp-o-matic-as an illustrative example. In this last instalment, we'll complete our look at the use of the UML in the development of real-time systems by focusing on design. View the PDF document for more information.
