Catch the Z-Wave

The last letter of the alphabet is suddenly very popular among developers of wireless sensors networks. It was just a year or two ago when marching bands of articles about 802.15.4 and ZigBee networks paraded on the pages of most technical magazines and journals. For many people, Z-Wave's introduction passed unnoticed; slowly but surely, Z-Wave has built momentum and has now become a direct competitor to ZigBee in the home automation arena. Still, certain similarities with ZigBee's functionality, application, and name are keeping Z-Wave in the shadows for many ordinary developers.
