CDHV resistor divider delivers <0.03% ratio stability

 CDHV chip resistor divider

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. announced the CDHV, a surface-mount chip resistor divider with a small size profile that is said to achieve ratio stability under high voltages. This resistor divider is designed for use in high-voltage power supplies, power switching equipment and inverter controls.

Manufactured with an alumina substrate, the CDHV is capable of handling voltages up to 3kV, with a voltage coefficient down to 5ppm/V. It provides resistance values of 1 MΩ to 20 gigaΩ that are available in a range of standard and custom resistance ratios from 10:1 to 500:1, with ratio stability of <0.03 per cent at full power and 70°C at 2,000hrs. Absolute resistance tolerance options range from ±20 per cent down to ±1 per cent, with ratio tolerance options to 1 per cent. Its temperature coefficient of resistance is available to ±100ppm/°C over a -55°C to 150°C operating range.

The CDHV is housed in a small 2512 case and has a choice of top-only and wraparound terminations. Dimensions of the top-only resistor divider are 6.10-by-3.20mm with a profile of 0.635mm. The wraparound version has a slightly increased length of 6.35mm. Both versions are available in tape-and-reel packaging.

Samples and production quantities of the CDHV resistor divider are already available, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders.
