Elma Electronic telescopic rails promise maximum reliability

The new telescopic rails from Elma Electronic Inc. feature a rugged, ultra-thin 7mm wide construction that enables full size 84HP wide sub-racks to be mounted in 19-inch cabinets. The roller-assisted rails are designed to meet MIL standards, and are rated to 90kg dynamic loading per pair, with up to 566mm extension.

For safety, the rails may be locked at full extension. The telescopic rails also feature adjustable mounting brackets to suit cabinet depths from 582mm to 1,001mm, with the standard fixing kits and closed fixing holes to ensure secure mounting in high density applications such as AdvancedTCA, COTS and other telecom and defense projects.

The press release said that the zinc plated steel construction and roller assisted motion match the proven 60kg family of telescopic rails from the company, and provide low friction without the need for any additional lubrication. The 7mm thickness enables standard 84HP sub racks to be fitted into unmodified cabinets, whereas conventional heavy-duty rails have limited the sub-rack to a reduced 81HP width.

These new rails have been designed for maximum reliability, with 100 pullouts guaranteed at the full 90kg load. Ease of use and safety are also provided with a rating of up to 8 pullouts per minute. Testing is underway for full MIL approval.

Pricing for the slide rails are under $200, depending on volume and style, and lead time is stock to 2 weeks.
