ERNI's LPV family of IEC 60603-13 (DIN 41651) compliant connectors offers a comprehensive spectrum of board-to-cable connectors with a 2.54mm pitch.

According to the press release, the proven and reliable IDC technology that is employed ensures gas-tight and corrosion-resistant contact with a consistently low contact resistance throughout the product's service life. The integrated polarizing key in the middle of the connector housing prevents incorrect mating and damaged contacts, added ERNI. The optional locking latches secure the connection by providing additional protection against inadvertent release caused by strain from vibrations and shock loads. When the locking latch is opened, the female connectors are lifted out of the contact evenly to prevent damage.

The female connector is designed to be used with 1.27mm ribbon cables. The IDC contacts cut through the insulation material so it is not necessary to strip off the insulation. The strain relief clamps that are included in the delivery make it possible to lead cables out at an angle of 90° or 180° to the plug connector. The male connectors are available with press-fit, wave-soldering and through-hole-reflow termination. Besides the standard overall height of 17mm, there are also low-profile, 9.4mm versions available. In addition, there are 10 housing sizes available for both male and female connectors in pin configurations with 10, 14, 16, 20, 26, 34, 40, 50, 60 or 64 positions.

The new LPV connectors are available immediately. Pricing starts at 70 cents for a 10 position female connector.
