Mitsumi LED driver IC enables even luminance for white LEDs

Keywords:led driver ic  mm3197xr

White LED normally needs to be applied 3V to 5V power pressure, and, depending on its characteristics, may require pressurization. Mitsumi Electric explained that pressurization is normally done by inductor or condenser on the circuit design, and to control multiple lighting, suppression of fluctuation is an important factor.

The company's new MM3197XR white LED driver IC enables even luminance by circulating a certain level of current (using inductor) and bringing the power pressure accuracy to ±5 percent. This product is a low-voltage-input version of the already-manufactured MM3097, with addition of over-voltage protection function.

The MM3197XR features an FB voltage of 100mV (±5 percent accuracy), current consumption of 0.5mA typical (ON) and 0.1µA typical (OFF) and oscillating frequency of 1.2MHz (±20 percent).

Housed in a SSON-6 package, the MM3197XR has an external dimension of 2.8-by-2.9-by-0.55mm (including terminals).
